When you are feeling offense. When you are feeling like a victim. When you want justice. When you are disappointed because others have let you down. When your flesh is screaming that you need to defend yourself...
If God quietly whispers, "Am I enough?" What will you say?
So what is your answer?
If you point out to God all the things that are wrong with another person...
and He asks again, "Am I enough?"
Let's say you say, "Yes, God, you are enough."
You don't really feel it, you're paying lip service to it, but you say it again. You say it again. And you say it again. You begin to find that you begin to believe it. You find that it no longer matters that the man in your life has so many imperfections. You find that it no longer matters that your friends disappoint you. You find that it no longer matters when others offend you or when you used to think you needed to defend yourself...
Because not only is God enough, but now He is everything to you.
My paraphrasing from above is an excerpt from Lisa Bevere's book: "Fight Like A Girl". This blog is not repeating her words verbatim, but close enough. God deserves the credit first for giving her the words and she deserves the credit for having the courage to write the book.
Lisa Bevere is telling every woman's story. It's AWESOME! For I find myself to be a similar woman with similar issues...it's figuring out how to overcome. She has provided the insight to take me one more step in that direction.
Thank you, Jesus!
