There comes a time as a believer that you are no longer a new christian, a baby christian, because enough time has passed. A parent is disheartened if their baby stops growing in it's development, it refuses to walk, wants to be carried, is 3 years old and still not feeding itself, demanding to be spoon fed, if by age 5-6 years it is still breast feeding and not potty trained, there become issues because the child is not sufficiently prepared to move to the next level.
As a christian, we get fed by our pastor, we get fed in group bible study, we get fed by being around and listening to other believers... But our growth is painfully slow....
if even discernible, if we don't take responsibility and initiative to grow and develop on our own, to stretch our faith and seek the Father and to know Him one-on-one without anyone else leading or speaking for us.
Jesus wants a personal relationship with you. He knows you better than you know yourself. But he is a gentleman and won't force himself on you. He is waiting for your invitation, for you to seek him out. He just waits. Lovingly. Anxiously. For don't you think just as you want to be desired he wants to be desired? Don't you think he wants to be wanted, that he wants to be pursued, to be cherished, for you to WANT to spend time with him? He doesn't want to be an obligation and if you treat him as such, he will turn away in disgust - because he knows your heart isn't in it. You're just going through the motions.
He wants all of you. Not just one small portion of your life. Not just Sunday for an hour. Not just one room in your heart. He wants to be allowed to be a part of your hearts desires, you ambition, your finances, your relationships, your career, he wants to be involved in every aspect of your job. He wants to be so interwoven into your life that you can't imagine what life or any of these parts of your life were ever like without him.
You only get to that point by seeking him. The more you seek him. And really desire to KNOW him, really KNOW him... the more you will want him. And the more you will realize how much he wants YOU!!!
