More Disobedience Consequences? This is NOT fun!

Solomon is blessed by HIS Father's obedience..."...Hiram king of Tyre ...because he had always been on friendly terms with David." 1 Kings 5:1
BUT!

Solomon was told the following by God:
(1 Kings 11:1-13)
2 ....“You must not intermarry with them, because they will surely turn your hearts after their gods.” Nevertheless, Solomon held fast to them in love.

3 ...his wives led him astray.

4 As Solomon grew old, his wives turned his heart after other gods, and his heart was not fully devoted to the LORD his God, as the heart of David his father had been.

9 The LORD became angry with Solomon because his heart had turned away from the LORD

11 So the LORD said to Solomon, “Since this is your attitude...I will most certainly tear the kingdom away from you and give it to one of your subordinates.

12 ... I will not do it during your lifetime. I will tear it out of the hand of your son. (OUCH!)

What difference would you make, starting today, for your children? Or your beneficiaries?

It may SEEM like you are the only one who will suffer - it's your life, your decision, your selfish stubbornness... BUT, it is rare that we make decisions that do not ripple beyond ourselves.

Follow the nudging of that voice inside that is telling you to get it together in whatever area of your life.

a mindset
a thought life
a physical action
an attitude
are you clinging to something?
does pride stand in your way?
do you just let your flesh have it's way? (your self centered side)
do you feel entitled?

Simple things can be going on inside of us to cause us to "do the wrong thing" and not obey. And it could be something you may have been doing for years... Let God show you what that is.

May you seek God as He reveals Himself to you. May you clear away the cobwebs of pride and the thick fog of stubbornness, may you press through the fear and tune in to the guidance you are very likely receiving in SOME area from the Holy Spirit.

May God give you the strength to step our of your comfort zone and to press on as needed!
God Bless!
